Corsica

An island of two worlds — turquoise Mediterranean horizons and a wild mountain heart, connected by roads that seem made for discovery.

Journey Details

Our journey begins in Bastia, following the coast towards Saint-Florent before turning inland and crossing the rugged spine of the island to Corte — Corsica’s historic mountain capital.

From here, the roads become quieter and wilder as we continue towards Évisa and Vico, climbing through forests and high mountain passes before emerging once again beside the Mediterranean at Ajaccio. After three stages, Ajaccio becomes our base for a rest day and a loop ride — a chance to explore more of the surrounding landscape without packing our bags.

For our journey back towards Bastia, the route combines spectacular coastal roads with quiet lanes through sleepy mountain villages, deep valleys and landscapes that feel wonderfully untouched. It is Corsica at its most compelling: dramatic, rugged and deeply connected to the mountains and the sea.

Island of Beauty

Known to the Ancient Greeks as Kalliste — “the most beautiful one” — Corsica has little trouble living up to its name. Here, every bend in the road reveals another reason to keep riding: a glimpse of blue Mediterranean, a granite peak rising beyond the trees, or a quiet mountain village seemingly untouched by time.

Yet Corsica’s beauty is not simply found in its postcard views. It lies in the contrast between the sea and the mountains, between the warmth of its coastal towns and the solitude of its interior.

Roads climb from fragrant maquis and turquoise coves into forests of pine and chestnut, crossing a landscape shaped by centuries of shepherds, stone villages and a fierce sense of independence. It is this constant change of scenery — and the feeling that there is always something waiting around the next bend — that makes this journey such a compelling one.

Local Flavours

Our roadside feed stops are curated around the flavours of the island, with each one offering something distinctive from the landscape we’ve just ridden through.

Fresh brocciu with Corsican honey, warm fiadone, seasonal citrus, chestnut treats, artisan cheeses and carefully selected charcuterie are served alongside good coffee and local bread — simple, generous food chosen from the places and producers along our route.

These are not just stops to refuel, but small moments to slow down, taste something local and take in the character of Corsica.

You are never far from the coast, but leave it behind and the magic begins. Quiet roads lead deep into the island, taking you to the most unexpected places — and often, the most memorable ones.

Route Details

Over six stages, our journey weaves it’s way from Bastia to Corte, climb into the rugged heart of Corsica towards Elvisa, and emerge on the western coast at Ajaccio — where we pause for a well-earned rest day. From there, the road continues south-east along cork oaks before turning north towards the granite landscapes of Piana, eventually completing the circle back in Bastia.
